In a recent Twitter space discussion, a Lido developer said users can expect staked Ethereum (stETH) withdrawals “no sooner than early May.”

According to developer Kadmil, Lido (LDO) will need to finish the security audits before allowing users to liquidate their stETH assets. He also revealed Lido’s protocol upgrade is currently undergoing four security audits from different teams.

His statements were synonymous with Lido’s earlier tweets about the firm spending $1.2M on security audits.

Moreover, the staking platform intends to release a test network to implement the software changes planned for Lido V2.

Earlier in February, Lido revealed its plans to launch a second version of its protocol. According to the announcement, Lido V2 will support Ethereum (ETH) staking withdrawals and will be deployed after the release of the much-anticipated Shanghai update.

Subsequently, Lido launched a snapshot vote on its governance forum to approve the software overhauls and upgrade scopes of Lido V2. The voting concluded on March 7, with 100% of the Lido DAO members agreeing with Lido’s plans.
