BitNile’s Executive Officer, Milton Ault, said, “Our plan is to build an innovative Bitcoin-focused e-commerce platform that combines our experience in the cryptocurrency sector with our long-term philosophy of investing in disruptive technologies with a global impact.”
Crypto mining firm BitNile announced its plans to release a multi-vendor Bitcoin e-commerce platform in the first half of 2023.
According to BitNile’s press release, the marketplace will offer lower fees than e-commerce platforms. This venture aims to leverage Bitcoin and other “innovative technologies.”
Ault noted,
“We believe the prospect of powering e-commerce with Bitcoin is a huge opportunity.”
BitNile will launch the marketplace as both an app and a web application. The firm claimed that setting up this platform will reduce the complexity of conducting transactions in Bitcoin.
The marketplace will include third-party integrations. It will also require the buyer and seller to participate in a pre-verification program before they make any transactions.
Despite the decline in crypto-mining, BitNile reported a prelim revenue of $49M in Q3 2022. This declaration surpassed the consensus estimate of $23.7M.
