NEAR Protocol’s blog post said, “Near now becomes the Blockchain Operating System, allowing seamless, one-time onboarding and removing friction points like making accounts for every experience.”
NEAR protocol (NEAR) has released a blockchain operating system (BOS) to enhance user experience by providing a common layer for users to search and discover Web3 content.
According to the firm’s co-founder, Illia Polosukhin, the BOS is compatible with all crypto networks that support the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and NEAR Protocol.
The cross-blockchain BOS will also provide several accessibility features to developers. It will also allow developers to fork existing blockchain components at a faster pace.
Polosukhin noted that the current infrastructure lacks a search facility to navigate Web3 apps. He added that the BOS will address this issue by allowing users to browse Web3 innovations, including NFTs, social media networks, and crypto exchanges. In his words,
“We are moving away from our layer 1 focus, it’s now about the user and the experience they have. We are looking at this as the frontend for blockchains in general.”
Polosukhin also revealed that the NEAR Protocol will develop provisions to allow interactions between crypto wallets of different chains in the future.
