In the words of Vitalik Buterin, “User experience is a key reason why many Ethereum users often opt for centralized solutions instead of on-chain decentralized alternatives that keep power in the hands of the user.”
Vitalik Buterin suggested changes to improve the user experience for making micropayments using Ethereum (ETH).
In his blog post, Buterin recounted his inconvenience in making daily microtransactions via crypto. He claimed that the Ethereum network suffers from occasional transaction delays. He also highlighted that the issue of high transaction fees due to scaling has yet to be resolved.
Vitalik, however, acknowledged that EIP-1559 and the Ethereum Merge have reduced delays by stabilizing block times.
The founder of Ethereum voiced his support for ERC-4337. The proposal will add account abstraction without modifying the Ethereum protocol.
He also noted that many dApps have yet to support certain wallets as they rely on MetaMask-specific APIs. According to him, wallet developers should start focusing on privacy-related improvements.
Furthermore, Buterin warned that scammers can add fake transactions to the transfers page on EtherScan to trick the community into purchasing scam tokens.
He concluded by stating that despite recent improvements, more work needs to be done on the Ethereum network.
